I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 5800x with an RTX 3080 and 32 GB of RAM, all powered by a 1000W Corsair power supply. My triple-monitor setup has 34" WQHD displays, and while playing Assetto Corsa Evo, I experience about 40 FPS with low settings. The frame rate drops significantly when I have more than nine cars on screen, even with DLSS in performance mode. I'm considering an upgrade for my graphics card, but I'm unsure if it's necessary or if my CPU might be the issue. I also thought about upgrading my CPU, but the DDR5 RAM prices have made that impractical for me right now.

Actually, I don't think the GPU is causing the problem here. The RTX 3080 should handle things fine, and pairing a 5080 with your 5800X might not be the best move. I’d recommend the RX 9070XT, but I’m skeptical it’ll solve your issues completely. Try checking your temperatures and running some diagnostics with tools like MSI Afterburner.
When you have over nine cars, does lowering the resolution improve performance? If it doesn't, then it's likely not a GPU bottleneck you're dealing with.
You mentioned you have a triple monitor setup but didn't specify the resolution. At 1080p, your CPU could be the issue; at 1440p, there's still some CPU bottleneck, just less noticeable. Upgrading to either the 5080 or 9070XT should significantly help, but you'll still encounter some limits due to your CPU.
If you think the GPU is the main bottleneck, then I'd suggest going for the RX 5080. It should give you a nice boost in performance.

OP stated they’re using 34" WQHD, that’s actually 3440x1440p!
