I'm currently using a Ryzen 9 5950x with 64GB of DDR4 RAM, and I'm considering whether I should upgrade to AM5 and make the switch to DDR5. I typically do 4K gaming and IT work, like running multiple VMs. Would it be better to stick with my AM4 setup until AM6 comes out, or would I see significant benefits from upgrading now?

The 5950X is still a solid CPU. If everything is working fine for what you do, then there's really no rush to upgrade. It's best to wait until you actually need more performance.
Unless your current setup is lacking performance-wise, I'd recommend staying with what you have until there’s a real need to upgrade. No point in rushing into it!
