Is Learning Math from the Ground Up a Smart Move for a CS Student?

Hey everyone! I'm 24 and starting my second year in computer science at university in the UK. I didn't focus much on studying math when I was younger and didn't perform well in it. Currently, I'm learning math from the absolute basics using Khan Academy, starting at a kindergarten level. Sometimes, I question whether this is a good use of my time. I want to be a well-rounded software developer and think that understanding at least up to high school level math (or A-Level) could really help my problem-solving skills, which seem pretty transferable to programming. So, I'm wondering, is what I'm doing worthwhile?

I think it's definitely worth it, but maybe skip ahead using Khan Academy's placement quizzes to identify your gaps. For computer science, focus on algebra, functions, exponents, logarithms, and a bit of calculus to read limits and derivatives. Doing a few practice problems daily and applying those concepts in small coding projects can really help improve retention. If you want more structure, tackle any gaps from your GCSEs before heading towards A-Level Core math using Khan Academy and resources like 3Blue1Brown. This stuff is an investment in your future skills and confidence!

Thanks for the tips! Quick question, what do you mean by "plug GCSE gaps"?
