I'm looking for a final sanity check before I upgrade my PC with some new parts. It's been a while since my last build, and I want to make sure I'm making good choices! Here's what I'm reusing and what I'm planning to buy:
Reused parts:
- Power supply: Corsair RM1000e (2023)
- GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB Eagle
New parts:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9800x3D
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B850
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III PRO AIO 240mm
- Case: Fractal Design North
I'm open to switching out the motherboard or cooler if there are better or cheaper alternatives available. I heard some positive things about the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler for the 9800x3D, but the shop I'm buying from recommends the AIO instead. Any tips would be really appreciated! Just so you know, I wasn't planning on adding any more case fans aside from the stock ones that come with the case.

An air cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE is totally sufficient for the 9800x3D. It's really up to your personal preference if you want to go with air cooling or stick with the AIO. Just keep in mind that it saves money too!
I'm not a fan of AIOs myself, so I'd say go with the Thermalright as well. Just be aware that it's supposed to be installed without the fan bracket on the case, apparently. But hey, if it’s good enough for a 9800x3D, then it's a win!
I hear you! I've had an AIO before, and it was such a hassle to fit when I changed cases. Plus, the Thermalright being half the price makes it an even better deal!

Right? Plus, it's half the price, so I'm totally going for that option. I guess the store was just trying to upsell me on the AIO.
