Is My Budget Build Good Enough for 1440p Gaming?

I'm currently looking to build a budget-friendly gaming PC. Initially, I was considering a setup with a 9700X CPU and either a 5070Ti or 9070XT GPU, but the prices (around £1,500-1,700) made me rethink my choices. I've downsized to a 5700X3D CPU paired with a 5060Ti GPU. Will this new setup still perform well for gaming at 1440p, especially since I'm primarily using a TV for gaming? Should I think about upgrading either the CPU or GPU instead? Thanks! You can check my parts list for reference: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/jcLBWc.

The 5700X3D isn't the best value right now. If you can, consider the 7600 instead. It performs better in games and is a solid choice for a future-proof setup. Plus, think about going with an RX 9070 for a significant performance boost, like 40-50% more than what you get with a 5060Ti.

Honestly, I'd recommend sticking with your original idea of the 9700X and either the 5070Ti or 9070XT. That combo will last a lot longer and give you better performance in the future.

I suggest going for a newer setup with the 7600X and a better GPU, like the 5070. It'll cost a little more but will deliver way better performance while keeping you on an AM5 socket for easier future upgrades. You could get everything for about £70 more and it would be worth it considering the performance gains!

It's interesting that 1440p is often referred to as 2K! It makes sense given the pixel count, but it can be a bit confusing. Normally, 2K refers to a resolution of about 2000 pixels horizontally, and since 1440p has a little over that, it's just marketing fluff, I guess!

Yeah, it really boils down to how these terms are used in different contexts. Cinema has its own definitions, but in consumer tech, they simplify things a bit!
