I've noticed that Windows PowerShell is opening automatically when I start my computer, showing some text about environment checks and bandwidth usage. This started happening around the time I accidentally downloaded something. Is there a chance my system has been compromised?

It’s possible you might have a problem. I recommend reinstalling Windows to be safe. Alternatively, you could try using the legacy automation tool to disable it, but if it’s new to you, that'll be tricky. Reinstalling is the safest bet.
