Is my CPU causing performance issues with my new GPU?

I'm having a tough time with my setup. I recently got an ASUS Dual 5060 and was pairing it with a Ryzen 5 4500. However, I've noticed that every game I play (except for some old ones) shows a CPU bottleneck at 100% usage. To fix this, I've ordered a Ryzen 7 5800X, but I'm worried I might have gone overboard while trying to save some money. Here's my current build: ASUS Dual 5060, Ryzen 5 4500, B450M DS3H motherboard, 32GB RAM, and a 600W PSU. The Ryzen 7 is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and I'm panicking. Should I cancel the order, save some cash, and just go for the Ryzen 5 5600GT? Will it work well with my setup?

Bottlenecks aren’t an exact science, so saying you're at 100% doesn't really tell the whole story. The 5800X should work perfectly fine with your GPU. Do you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard? That's key to making sure everything runs smoothly.

Yes, I updated it because my previous CPU wasn't compatible. Now that it's sorted, I hope it'll help!

Honestly, the 5800X is more than enough for the 5060, and you shouldn't have any bottleneck issues. It sounds like your CPU is being taxed by something else. Have you looked into what other processes might be running in the background?

I haven't checked that yet, but I'll definitely look into background processes. Thanks for the tip!

If you're looking to save, the 5600 is a solid choice and should perform well with the 5060 without any bottlenecks. But it sounds like the 5800X is a great choice for future-proofing your build. Just bumping up your resolution could also help reduce CPU usage in games.

Thanks! I'll think about that before deciding on the cancellation.
