Is My CPU Limiting My RAM Speed After Upgrade?

I recently upgraded my system with a 2x Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB Kit DDR5-6400 CL38. However, I noticed that the package states it supports Intel 13-14th gen, while I have a 12900 CPU paired with an MSI Z690-A motherboard that claims it can handle up to 6400MHz. In Task Manager, it only shows the speed as 4000MT/s. Could my CPU be the reason for this limitation?

Have you tried enabling XMP in your BIOS? That might help get your RAM to run at its rated speed. Just make sure your CPU memory controller is set to gear 2 or 1:2 for the best results.

I never tried XMP before, but I’ll definitely look it up now. Thanks for the tip!
