Is My CPU Overheating Causing Game Crashes?

I've been experiencing some frustrating BSODs (Blue Screen of Death) and game crashes while gaming. After some troubleshooting, I suspect my CPU might be overheating. Core Temp is showing that my CPU temps are hitting a maximum of 92°C, with average readings in the high 80s to low 90s. Given that I've had this PC for a few years without these issues before, I'm considering checking the thermal paste and possibly upgrading the CPU cooler. I plan to upgrade my PC soon, but I'd prefer to hold off if I can. Any advice on this situation would be great!

Those temperatures are definitely on the high side! If they’re spiking only during intense gaming moments, it might not be a huge issue, but sustained temps like that can definitely lead to crashes and damage over time. I'd recommend checking out your cooling setup first. If it's been a while since you repasted the thermal paste on your CPU, it might be a good idea to do that, along with cleaning any dust buildup in your cooler and case. It's always better to be proactive with cooling!

You should also check your system specs. Knowing your exact CPU model can help determine if those temps are dangerous. An i5-11400 typically runs hot under load, especially at 100% usage while gaming. Make sure you have good airflow in your case and consider a higher performance cooler if you're planning on sticking with that setup for a while longer.

Yeah, it's an Intel i5-11400 and it does push 100% usage when I'm gaming. Thanks for the tips!
