Is My Fire Stick Causing Issues with My TV?

Lately, I've been experiencing some odd behavior with my television, which I primarily use to stream movies and shows through my Fire TV Stick. The main problem occurs when I'm watching Hulu: if I try to rewind, it skips certain scenes, making it really frustrating. When it comes to Netflix, sometimes after I leave a show to check back later, it gets stuck loading forever, even though I can hear the audio playing. If I navigate back to the home screen, I momentarily see the episode playing but then I'm sent back to the home menu. I initially thought this might just be a coincidence, but it keeps happening. Additionally, my Fire remote is lagging when I switch between apps, and if I hold the directional button down, it jumps through apps too quickly. Is this a Fire Stick issue? What steps can I take to resolve these problems? Thanks!

If those issues keep popping up, I'd recommend fully unplugging the Fire Stick and letting it power cycle for a bit. I think Fire Sticks can be a bit finicky with performance at times.

It sounds like your Fire Stick might just need a reboot. Try holding the play/pause and the big select button at the same time to restart it. Sometimes a simple reboot can clear up a lot of funky behavior!

Just to double-check, you’re not using a modified Fire Stick, right? Those can sometimes cause all sorts of weird problems due to additional programs they might have. Make sure you have a standard version, and that could help narrow down the issue!

Nope, just a standard Fire Stick. For context, I have a Sanyo 1080p TV, a model DP52848. My Fire Stick model is LY73PR.
