Is My First PC Build Part List Missing Anything Important?

I'm venturing into building my first PC after years of using pre-built machines and laptops. I've spent quite a bit of time researching parts and their functions, feeling more knowledgeable than ever, but I still feel a bit overwhelmed. A friend who knows their stuff has reviewed my list and thinks it's solid, but it never hurts to get a few more perspectives before making such a big investment.

I'm aiming to set this up for 1080p gaming, particularly enjoying games like FFXIV and PS3 emulations, so I don't need high-end specs for new AAA titles. I want to avoid cases with glass and would like to include a Blu-ray drive, which is why I chose a case with external bays.

The total cost is around 1849.76 AUD, and I'd ideally like to keep it under 2k AUD. How does my build look? You can see my parts list here: [PCPartPicker Part List](https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/cKTs74).

Your part list looks pretty solid! The B840 motherboard should work fine for your needs, especially since you're not planning on overclocking. Just make sure it has all the connections you need for your drives and peripherals. It’s good you're not going for a glass case if you're looking for something that doesn’t show off all the internals. Overall, I think you’re on the right track!

Thanks for the input! I'm glad to hear that about the motherboard. I just want it to run smoothly without any major issues.

You might wanna look for CL30 RAM instead; it could offer better performance for the same price. There's a decent deal I found that could save you some money. Just make sure it's compatible with your motherboard!

I appreciate the tip! I actually came across some CL30 RAM that fits my budget, so I'll consider swapping to that.
