Is My Friend’s PC a Good Buy?

Hey everyone! I could use some advice here. A friend of mine is selling his PC, and I'm considering buying it. I was originally planning to build my own rig with a budget of around $5000 to $5500. However, he's offering his PC for about $3000 to $3200. I'm completely new to the PC scene and could really use some help determining if this is a fair price. Here are the specs he provided:

- **CPU:** Ryzen 9 7950X3D
- **GPU:** MSI SUPRIM X 4080
- **RAM:** 96GB CORSAIR DOM
- **PSU:** 1000 or 1200 SEASONIC
- **MOBO:** GIGABYTE AORUS ICE B650E
- **COOLER:** NZXT 360 KRAKEN AIO
- **CASE:** NZXT H9 FLOW
- **Custom LCD SCREEN**
- **12 LIAN LI FANS**
- **LIAN LI STRIMER CABLE**

I'm mainly looking to do video editing and Photoshop work, along with some competitive gaming like Overwatch and Marvel Rivals. FPS is super important for me, but I don't know a lot about benchmarking or these parts in general. Also, I'm not sure what else I would need besides peripherals. I'm eyeing the Sony INZONE M10S 27.0" 2560 x 1440 480 Hz Monitor but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for the help!

You can get a brand new version of this PC with an upgraded GPU for around $3k. Don’t worry too much about what your friend spent on the extra stuff; it’s not accounted for in this sale. Consider checking out /r/buildapcforme for advice on a fresh build.

Sweet, thank you so much.

I agree, it feels too pricey. You can definitely get a brand new PC with similar specs for about the same money. Don't settle for second-hand if you can get something fresh.

For $3000, you could build a completely new rig with similar specs, so I would suggest you avoid this deal. It's not worth it.

Honestly, I'd pass. You could get a newer version of this setup for the same price, and it would be brand new. I ignored the monitor since you didn't specify which one, but if you're looking for performance over aesthetics, this isn't the best deal. There are better options out there. Here’s a quick link to a build you can get for a similar price: [link].
