I recently ordered a PC build featuring a Radeon RX 9070 XT paired with a Ryzen 9 7900X. I'm a bit worried since I keep reading mixed things online about their compatibility. This is a big upgrade from my old setup, which had a GeForce RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 5 3600XT. Can anyone give me advice on whether this combination is a good choice for gaming?

The Ryzen 9 7900X is more geared towards workstation tasks because of its higher core count. While it will work perfectly fine with your RX 9070 XT, it's not necessarily the best for gaming performance. If gaming is your main focus, consider something like the 7800X3D or 9800X3D instead for better results.
CPUs and GPUs are generally compatible, but you want to ensure they match your needs. Like mentioned before, the 7900X is a workstation CPU, but you'll still get solid performance in gaming with your RX 9070 XT. Just keep in mind that for pure gaming, it may not be the top choice.
