Is My Graphics Card Failing or What?

I was all set to finish the Control DLC when my game crashed, and now my graphics card seems to be acting up. After the crash, my screen went completely blank. I reinstalled the graphics card but when I booted up my PC again, the ASUS boot screen showed up with weird horizontal lines all over. It then tries to load into repair mode but says it can't find the necessary drive. What should I do?

I think it sounds like your graphics card is having some serious issues. Those horizontal lines could mean that it's failing or there might be a connection issue. If you've just reseated it, maybe consider checking the power connections or testing it in a different slot if possible.

Are the lines on your screen constant or do they change? What exact message are you seeing about your drive? It might help clarify the issue.

The lines are erratic; they don't run straight across the whole screen—more like bursts that overlap in places. Moving the cursor actually makes them disappear for a moment. When I boot up, it usually says "Repairing system" before leading to a blue screen where I can choose a language. Once I do that, it gives me options like "Refresh," "Reset," or "Advanced Options." Oh, and I got an edit on this: "The drive where Windows is installed is locked; unlock the drive and try again."
