Hey everyone! I recently installed an i9 14900K and I'm using an NZXT Kraken X63 for cooling. I've noticed that whenever I start a game or it begins shader compilation, the CPU temperature shoots up to over 90 degrees, sometimes hitting 100 degrees. Once the load decreases, the temp cools down to around 60-70 degrees. Is this normal behavior for this processor? Should I consider replacing the thermal paste (currently using Thermalright TF7), or is there something else I should look into?

Yeah, it's pretty common for the i9 14900K to hit those high temps, especially during shader compilation since it really pushes the CPU hard. Make sure you've got the latest Intel microcode update, as there have been some issues regarding temperature management with the 13th and 14th gen Intel chips.
Honestly, this CPU is a real heat monster. If you’re gaming, you might want to rethink using an i9. They can get super hot compared to other options out there.
Switching to liquid metal thermal paste can improve heat transfer, but it’s a bit risky for inexperienced builders. Use it carefully to avoid spills that could damage your components. Too much or too little can really mess things up!
I wouldn't be too concerned if your Intel CPU reaches 100C under full load. If anything, you'd be more worried if it didn't hit those temps!
First mistake was going for Intel. You should've opted for an AMD x3d. The 14700k heats up too, but I had to undervolt mine and make some adjustments to keep it cool.
But isn't the x3d even hotter at similar power outputs?
So, it's normal then? I was worried when I saw it spike to 100 degrees. My BIOS is already updated.
