I'm looking to upgrade the CPU in my MSI Nightblade 3, which currently has an Intel i7 7700. I found that the i7-12700K would be a good fit for running Windows 11, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my motherboard since it seems like the socket types differ according to what I've seen on PCPartPicker. Can anyone confirm if upgrading to the 12700K is possible without having to replace the motherboard? Thanks in advance!

The i7-12700K won't work with your current motherboard. The socket types are different—your i7 7700 uses LGA 1151, while the 12700K needs LGA 1700. You're pretty much at the max for your setup, so if you're looking for an upgrade, you'll need a new motherboard too. Just stick with what you have for now!
You can't upgrade your CPU to the 12700K without switching out your motherboard. The i7 7700 is the best you can go for with that setup. If you're having trouble with Windows 11, you might want to search for some workarounds instead of going for the new CPU.
Thanks, that helps a lot! I'll look into the workarounds.
