I recently got my iPhone 15 and I've been using it for about a week. Coming from an iPhone 12 mini, which had terrible battery health, I was hoping for a better experience. I'm following the 20%-80% charging rule and not using it while it's charging, but I'm really concerned because the battery only lasts around 7 hours with regular use, and I don't have any heavy apps on it. Also, I've noticed it heats up a lot even when I'm just using simple apps like Books and WhatsApp. The phone is updated to iOS 18.4.1, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm thinking of going to Apple for help, but I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing similar issues and how long their battery lasts on the iPhone 15.

Just a heads up: the 20-80 rule is more about extending the overall life of your battery in the long run, not necessarily giving you more hours of use in a day. If your brightness is up high, that could also eat through battery life. Maybe try lowering it a bit!
You might want to wait a little longer. Since you just got it, it might take a bit for the system to optimize everything. If after another week it’s still an issue, consider reaching out for support.
Seven hours seems a bit typical for regular use, especially with some apps running. If you’re concerned about the heating, just keep an eye on it, but heating can sometimes happen with new updates or heavy processes. If you still face issues after some time, consider checking in with Apple. You have a week in, so give it a moment!
It lasts about 4 hours for me with heavy usage, so 7 hours doesn't sound too bad.
I totally get not wanting to update for battery reasons. Sometimes newer updates can eat into battery life until they stabilize.
It sounds like you might just be going through the setup process. A new phone can use a lot of battery while it's syncing everything from your old device. Also, if you're on social media or games often, those apps are notorious for draining battery life. Check your battery usage by app in the settings to see if something’s using more power than it should. Also, the Facebook app can be a huge culprit!
Yeah, I'm still syncing my old iPhone as well. Maybe once that’s done, it’ll behave better!
What do you suggest then? Should I adjust my charging habits?
