Is My iPhone Hacked or Just Malfunctioning?

Hey, everyone! I'm really worried about my iPhone and could use some advice. A while back, I checked my iPhone's serial number on Apple's site, and it showed up as invalid. Then it flipped back to valid but was running an iOS version that hadn't even been released yet. Now, my phone is acting super weird: it glitches between apps, freezes on basic tasks, heats up excessively even when idle, and some apps behave unpredictably as if the iOS isn't standard. The most alarming part is I can't log out of iCloud—either it errors out or just does nothing. I've changed my Apple ID password multiple times, but it keeps saying it's wrong, almost like it's reverting back. I've tried restarting, updating, factory resetting, and even contacted Apple support, but nothing serious showed up. I'm starting to feel like my phone might be hacked or has some unauthorized control. Has anyone experienced anything similar? How can I secure my device or check for tampering? I'm genuinely worried it's not safe anymore.

Your phone might be possessed! Just kidding! But seriously, it sounds normal for a device that's having hardware issues rather than a hack.

How old is your phone? It could just be hardware faults. The serial number glitch might’ve been a temporary hiccup. Apple devices are generally secure unless you've downloaded sketchy apps or it’s been jailbroken. If you're not a high-profile target, it’s unlikely you've been specially targeted. Have you tried a full factory reset with a different iCloud account?

From what you've described, it really does sound more like hardware failure. Have you dropped it a lot or noticed anything unusual if you shake it lightly?

If you’re not a celebrity or someone with a lot of enemies, the chances of your iPhone being hacked are basically zero. It's more likely a hardware failure than anything. Just focus on resolving those performance issues first.

Honestly, the symptoms you describe don’t sound like a hacked device. If a phone were hacked, it wouldn’t act up like that—it would need to stay unnoticed. Sounds to me more like your phone is just malfunctioning. Have you considered it might be a hardware issue?

Take a methodical approach with your apps. Uninstall one at a time and monitor your phone’s performance. If the problems stop after removing a particular app, that’s likely your culprit. It might be an app that's demanding too much from your CPU, causing all the heat and glitches.
