Hey everyone! I've noticed that my Kingston SNV3S2000G SSD is running really hot. When I check the second drive temperature using HWINFO64, it ranges from 82 to 92 degrees Celsius while I'm playing World of Warcraft, and it's slightly lower when the system is idle. For context, the drive is installed in slot 1 of my ASUS Prime X870-P motherboard, located between the CPU and GPU. I've already applied the included motherboard heatsink and used the M.2 rubber that came with it. Right now, the only things stored on the SSD are Windows and the game. Are these temperatures normal, or is there something I could do to cool it down?

I've had the same problem with the NVMe in my primary slot when gaming, despite it only containing games. I think it’s largely due to heat from the GPU's exhaust blowing hot air toward the NVMe and its heatsink. It's a common issue and pretty frustrating!
But doesn't the drive sit above the GPU? Shouldn't it be shielded from the hot air coming from the GPU's exhaust?
