I left my MacBook in the car overnight during a New England winter, and I'm worried about the potential damage. It turns on and operates normally now, but I read that cold temperatures could cause water damage from condensation when it warms up, as well as potential battery issues. Can anyone clarify how concerned I should be about this?

It's possible to have issues with condensation if the laptop is moved from a cold environment to a humid one, especially if you turn it on right away. But if you just let it warm up without powering it on, you'll be good to go!
On a scale of 1 to 10 for concern, I'd say you’re at a 0.5! Doing this occasionally isn't going to ruin your laptop. I've left mine in my car in sweltering heat and it survived. Just be cautious in the future.
You're really not screwed at all! Cold alone isn't too damaging to electronics; it’s heat that usually causes more issues. Just give it some time to adjust before using it.
Just let your MacBook reach room temperature naturally before using it, and you should be fine! No need to worry too much about it.
