Help! My Motorola G50 Keeps Crashing and Boot Looping After Restart

I've been having a serious issue with my Motorola G50. The phone was running slow, so I decided to restart it, but afterward, it got stuck in a boot loop. Sometimes it turns on and works fine for hours, while other times it crashes even before the startup animation finishes. I've noticed that it seems to crash more frequently when it gets warm, especially when I'm doing resource-intensive tasks like installing apps or multitasking. Cooling it down allows me to turn it back on, but I'm confused why it suddenly became so sensitive to heat. This has never been a problem before; I usually only faced issues when the phone got extremely hot in my pocket under the sun. I've already backed up my data and I'm open to doing a factory reset if necessary. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're dealing with more than just a software glitch. Given that cooling the phone temporarily helps, it could be a thermal issue related to the hardware, possibly with the Power Management IC or bad soldering on the CPU/RAM. Here are some steps you can try:
1. If you haven't done so already, perform a factory reset to clear out any rogue processes. You can do this by holding Power + Volume Down to access the Recovery Menu.
2. Check your battery health. After three years, it might be struggling to hold a charge. If it seems slightly bulged, that’s likely the culprit.
3. Sometimes the thermal sensors might need recalibrating. Try draining the battery completely and then charging it while turned off to see if that helps.
4. If none of this solves the problem, there might be deeper issues with the motherboard. In that case, consider getting it professionally checked out for a 'reflow.' Hoping for the best for you!

Totally with you on this one! The USB battery drain trick can sometimes reset things in the system, so it’s worth a shot. Just keep an eye on how it behaves after each step.

Agreed! It could definitely be a hardware issue. Don't hesitate to consult a professional if it doesn't start behaving better after those initial fixes.

Man, I've been there! My Motorola had similar issues, and it turned out to be battery-related. After I replaced the battery, it worked like a charm again. Make sure to check if your battery's causing the problems before stressing over the motherboard! If it's bulging at all, that’s a big red flag.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely take a look at the battery and see if that might be the issue.

That's a good call! Often we overlook the battery, but it can cause lots of strange behavior if it's not working properly.
