Is My New iPhone Overheating While Gaming Normal?

I recently bought an iPhone 16 and I've noticed that it starts to overheat when I play games for about 15-20 minutes. I've never had this issue with my old iPhone XR. I'm concerned that this could negatively impact the battery life over time. Is this kind of heat normal for gaming? I usually play games like Mortal Kombat Mobile and Roblox.

Feeling warm is normal, but if it gets too hot, that’s something to watch for. Typically, just getting warm while playing is okay. Just take breaks if you feel the phone getting too hot!

It does get warmer on Roblox, but I’m mainly worried if that can damage the battery.

It’s pretty common for phones to get warm when playing games. If your iPhone isn’t shutting down or crashing, it’s likely not overheating in a harmful way. Just keep an eye on it!

What about games with lower graphics? Do they heat up too?

Heat is expected when gaming on smartphones. Just ensure it doesn’t get excessively hot, and your battery should be fine. It’s best to play in cooler environments too!
