I just picked up a used gaming PC for £600 with some solid specs: an RTX 4060 Ti, an i5 13400F processor, an MSI PRO H610M-G motherboard, 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MT/s (not sure of the brand), and a 2TB Samsung PM9A1 NVMe SSD. It came with an FSP 500W 80+ power supply, although I can't say I love the MSI case design. The gaming titles I want to run include Minecraft, Fortnite, and Valheim, plus some light video editing. CEX is selling a similar setup for £705, so I feel like I got a decent deal. Just wondering if I'd need to upgrade anything to get the best performance. Also, I realized the 4060 Ti is actually 8GB.

Double-check the specs—it's great you have the 8GB 4060 Ti! The motherboard is pretty basic, though, so upgrading to a better one in the future could boost your performance. As for the PSU, I'd recommend looking into upgrading it if you plan on enhancing your GPU later on. 500W might be cutting it close, especially for heavy loads.
Definitely consider a better motherboard down the line. The SSD will indeed hold your Windows installation, so a fresh install would be needed if you switch it up.
Try running some benchmarks like Cinebench or 3DMark. They can help you gauge your performance levels across the board, ensuring everything is running smoothly.
You’ve already got a pretty capable setup! Just dive into the games you want to play and if you're experiencing low FPS, then consider upgrades. But your specs seem more than adequate for what you've described. Plus, since you got it cheaper than CEX, I’d say you scored a good deal!

Should I upgrade my motherboard right away? I think the Windows installation is tied to the SSD, so wouldn't I need to reinstall if I swap it out?
