I'm diving into my first PC build and I've got some questions about the CPU temperatures and RAM speeds. Currently, my CPU temp is sitting at 47°C; is that typical for a 9800x3d at idle? Also, I've noticed that the AIO fan speed is quite a bit higher than my chassis fan speed. Is that normal since they are different models? Lastly, my RAM is Corsair Vengeance rated at 6000 MT/s and CL 30, but it shows up as 4800 MT/s. I'm using the XMP1 profile, which should hit those expected speeds, but why isn't it the default? And what exactly is XMP?

To answer your concerns: first, your CPU temp is totally normal at 47°C. Second, the AIO pump is designed to run at higher speeds to ensure the coolant flows well. And about your RAM, it usually defaults to 4800MHz unless you manually set it to use the XMP profile, which allows it to achieve that 6000MHz speed. Just make sure to enable that setting in your BIOS!
Yeah, 47°C is perfectly fine for an idle temp with the 9800X3D. Most CPUs throttle around 85°C, so you're nowhere near that. As for the AIO, it’s common for the pump to run at higher RPMs compared to the case fans to keep the coolant moving effectively. You're doing good!
The 47°C idle temp is solid for your CPU, no worries there. Your AIO pump running high is expected, and you can usually tweak the fan curves in the manufacturer's software. About the RAM, it defaults to 4800MHz but you can enable XMP to push it to 6000MHz without issue; it's a safe way to overclock your RAM.
Sweet, so enabling XMP should be fine? I just want to avoid any issues!
Awesome, that makes me feel better! What about the XMP settings for RAM?
