Hey everyone, I need your thoughts on my PC build for gaming at 1440p (2K) on max settings. I'm a little worried that my CPU choice, the Ryzen 7 9700X, might be overkill for my needs. What do you think? I'm also curious if you have any suggestions for optimizing my build. Thanks!

Looks like you’ve got a decent build. Just make sure you're actually going for 1440p, as '2K' often gets mixed up with other resolutions. The CPU can be overkill, but some titles with 3D V-Cache will benefit. Your overall build looks solid!
Your specs are a bit overkill for 2K gaming, but they do provide some future-proofing. If you can snag a Ryzen 7 9700X for around $290, it's a solid choice. Otherwise, check out the 7800X3D; it should be more than enough for your needs and may drop in price soon.
Thanks for the advice! I’m looking into the 9800X3D too since it has the 3D V-Cache. It seems more future-proof and worth it for the price difference here.
You might want to optimize your price a bit. Keeping with the 9800X3D might be easier now based on your budget. Check out my adjusted list here: [link].
Thanks for your recommendation! I’ll take a closer look at your list.
I see you have some SSDs in there, but why not switch to HDD for storage? They’re more economical for bulk storage, plus brands like Samsung are reliable. Also, if you're going with a cooler, consider getting a better fan setup for your case.
I appreciate your feedback! I get where you're coming from about the HDD, but I feel SSDs are faster for gaming. I got an AIO cooler recently, so I’m set there, but I’ll keep your fan suggestions in mind.
Yeah, made a little typo there! Thanks for clarifying. I mostly play AAA titles that are typically not well optimized, so I’m just trying to ensure a smooth playing experience.
