I'm wondering if my current PC build is more than I actually need. I've got some pretty high-end parts and I can make some adjustments, like getting a weaker CPU and a less expensive motherboard and GPU. I'm currently eyeing a Gamerock graphics card, but it's on pre-order, so I could switch to a standard Palit 5070 Ti and save about $80. I might have spent a bit too much on the power supply, but I wanted to future-proof it in case I upgrade my GPU later. Also, I picked up a $77 keyboard and chose one of the cheaper RAM options available. Even though I could find some cheaper on eBay, they either have worse speeds or no warranty. Any thoughts on whether my build is excessive?

No way, it’s not overkill at all! Given today's prices, this setup should last for at least five years. Better to invest now than wait and pay even more later!
Seems like a solid build you have there! It should definitely last you for many years, and it's future-proofed with that PSU choice. Just make sure that GPU can handle your resolution needs; 4K can be tricky at times for high framerates.
Yeah, I plan to use DLSS and frame generation to get around that issue for gaming.
If you’re gaming at 1080p, it might be a bit much, but at 1440p, you’re in the clear! The 9800X3D is powerful if you're only in it for max FPS, but for productivity, think about what you really need.
I appreciate the insight! I'm not overly concerned with refresh rates; I just want smooth gameplay.
Honestly, it looks pretty solid to me. For gaming and any future AI tasks, this setup should serve you well! You’ve got room for upgrades too. Don’t worry too much about being over the top.
Thanks for the reassurance! I just want to get the most out of it without going overboard.

Exactly. I’ve been wanting to build one for ages, so I’m glad I’m finally doing it!
