Is My Plan to Replace Business Premium with Standard Licenses a Good Idea?

Hey everyone! We've maxed out our licenses for Microsoft 365 Business Premium, and I'm considering a combination of Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (Plan 1), Microsoft Defender for Endpoint F2, and Microsoft Entra ID P1 to match the specs of Business Premium. My goal is to avoid upgrading to E3 due to cost concerns. Am I on the right track with this plan? I was thinking about creating a group to manage the licenses more easily. Any insights would be super helpful!

I think you might be overlooking a key point—if you're at the 300 user limit for Business licenses, that's it. You can't just switch to Standard without moving up to Enterprise licensing. That means you will likely need to look into E3 or the E5 options. Consider it the cost of doing business; sometimes you just have to invest in the right tools.

Totally agree! It's so much easier in the long run to invest in proper licensing. Plus, the additional security features can really justify the cost.
