I recently secured a PNY 5070 Ti for my cousin's build at MSRP, and while we're waiting for the rest of the parts, I plugged it into my system for a quick test. I noticed it makes a weird noise that my Asus Prime GPU doesn't. We're not sure if it's just fan noise or something like coil whine, since it doesn't quite match the coil whine videos we've seen. I'm curious if others who bought this card recently from Best Buy are experiencing the same noise or if we're just unlucky. Any insights would be welcome!

That noise might only be normal when you're pushing the card hard in games, like when you're rendering menus at really high FPS. If you're hearing it while just idling on the login screen, that's probably not typical. It's worth looking into!
If you've just got it and you're hearing odd noises, don't worry too much yet. I've heard the RMA process for these cards is pretty smooth if you need to return it. Maybe check with Best Buy to see if they’ll replace it first since it just arrived, but keep in mind stock might be tight right now!
Honestly, if you think it's noise bothersome enough to play on repeat for white noise, then yeah, something might be off! Don’t hesitate to look into a replacement if it continues.
