I currently have a system with a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RTX 2060, along with a MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard and 16GB of Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM. My power supply is a Corsair VS500, rated at 500W 80+, but I'm not entirely sure about the brand's reputation. I'm planning an upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5600x and a Palit Infinity 5060ti with 16GB of memory. Both CPUs have a TDP of about 65W (the 5600x might be slightly higher), while the 5060ti consumes around 180W, compared to the 2060's 160W. This seems manageable under my 500W PSU, but I'm concerned if I might be missing something. Should I consider upgrading the PSU now or is it fine for this setup? Both GPUs require the same 8-pin power connector.

Your current PSU should technically be fine, but I'd recommend considering a 650W unit just to be safe. If you're budget-conscious right now, 500W will work, but the 5060ti might ideally call for closer to 600W in some cases. Better safe than sorry!
The brand of your PSU being unknown does raise a flag, so it's worth researching. If it turns out to be a less reliable brand, you might want to think about an upgrade later on, even if the wattage seems alright for now. Just to be cautious!
I'm fairly certain it's a Corsair after looking up their packaging. Just need to confirm it!
You should definitely check out PCPartPicker! It helps you create new builds and gives power consumption estimates. I tried it for my setup and it was super informative!
I did check it out, and the total wattage was well under 400W! Feeling good to move forward!
If you're not planning on overclocking, your PSU should hold up fine. But if overclocking is in your future, it might be time to consider an upgrade sooner rather than later right now!
I use a 550W PSU with a 5600 and 5060ti combo, and my total draw is about 380W, so you should be good with yours too! Just keep an eye on the headroom, though. It might be a bit on the edge.
Thanks for the insight! Good to know I'm still in a safe zone.

I hear you! I'm tight on funds right now, but I'll definitely think about a new PSU next year.
