I'm having a major issue with my PS5. It keeps shutting off within 2 minutes of being on. Recently, my dad took it to a computer repair shop without me knowing. They claimed the internal 1TB storage we installed was the wrong one, even though it had worked fine for over a year. They removed it, said they'd order a new one for 200€, and my dad already paid, but I still haven't had it put back in. When my little brother tried to use it without the storage, it still shut off. The shop then suggested it might be overheating and offered to clean it for an additional 150€, totalling 350€. I'm starting to think I might be getting scammed. I could probably replace the drive myself for less and I really doubt that an air filter is causing this issue. I'm not sure if the storage was ever really the problem. Any thoughts?

200€ for a drive is way too high. Sure, prices vary by location, but I'd expect less. The shutdown could more likely be an overheating issue rather than a storage problem. You might want to consider cleaning it yourself or looking for a video tutorial on how to do it.
Just a thought, is the PS5 in a tight spot that maybe restricts airflow? It could be less about cleaning and more about airflow issues. Just something to check!
Yeah, this really screams scam. They took your money and didn't resolve the issue. If they thought it was overheating, why didn’t they check that in the first place? It seems like they’re just trying to milk more money from you.
Sounds like a scam to me. If they’d really fixed it, you wouldn’t be having the same issue again. Also, 350€ for what they claim is necessary work? That’s outrageous. Don’t let them take advantage of you!
You're definitely being scammed. It doesn't make sense that they say one thing, take your money, and then suggest another fix when the first one didn't work. It sounds very shady to me.
