Is My PSU Cable Safe to Use with a Visible Silver Wire?

I noticed a visible silver wire in my CPU cable from the power supply unit (PSU). I've been using this setup for about a year and a half and just caught sight of the wire. Should I go ahead and change the cable, or can I just wrap it up with insulation tape and keep using it as is?

I’d recommend replacing that cable. It's important to address that issue and figure out why it happened in the first place. It could lead to potential problems down the line if left as is. Better safe than sorry!

Although it's definitely not ideal to leave it as is, if you plan to upgrade some components soon and want to avoid any immediate hassle, using insulation tape temporarily could work. Just keep an eye on it, and be sure to replace it when you can.
