Hey folks! I recently upgraded my GPU from a 3080 Ti to a Gigabyte Windforce 5070 Ti, and I'm a bit confused about the power connections. For my old GPU, I used a single 8-pin cable from my Corsair RM750x (2021) PSU that split into two 8-pin connectors. That worked without issues.
The new 5070 Ti requires a 12-pin connector, but luckily, there's an adapter that lets me connect two 8-pin PCIe connectors to the 12-pin input. My current setup looks like this: I have a single 8-pin cable from the PSU that splits into two 8-pin connectors, which then connects to the 12-pin adapter for the GPU.
So, is this power setup still safe and effective? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I agree with TechieTurtle88! Using two cables is recommended for safety, but if you're in a pinch, it should hold up as long as everything fits right. Just make sure your PSU can handle the load. Also, you could find a compatible 8-pin cable from another brand, like EVGA, but double-check the specs to ensure it can handle your GPU's needs!
It’s generally better to use two separate 8-pin cables instead of splitting one. However, Corsair PSUs are robust and can deliver up to 300W on a single 8-pin cable, so your current setup should work just fine. If you want a cleaner look without the adapter, consider purchasing the Corsair vhpwr cable; it fits perfectly with modern GPUs and looks a lot nicer!
Thanks for the tip! The EVGA cable I found seems to fit perfectly—hopefully, it will work for my setup!
