I've decided to stick with upgrading my AM4 setup instead of switching to an AM5 build. Currently, I have a 5600x CPU overclocked to 4.8GHz and 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz. My power supply is a Corsair TX 550M, which is gold-rated. I'm considering getting an RX 9070 as a significant upgrade from my old 5700XT. I know there might be a slight bottleneck with the CPU, but I'm okay with that since I plan to upgrade more of my system in the future. My main concern is whether my 550W PSU will handle the RX 9070, especially during power spikes. The RX 9070 doesn't seem to draw a lot more power than my current GPU, and I'm also thinking about undervolting to ensure the PSU stays stable. Would love to hear some opinions on this!

Honestly, you shouldn't stress about any bottleneck with your current setup if you're eyeing a new GPU. Prices for GPUs are expected to rise, so it's a smart move to upgrade now! Your 5600x will work fine with the RX 9070 for the time being. As for the PSU, while 650W might provide a bit more headroom, your 550W should be adequate for your build, especially since you're considering mitigating power spikes.
I think you’ll be just fine with your 550W PSU! The RX 9070 stock power draw is only around 219W, so unless you're pushing it to the max on heavy loads, you shouldn’t run into problems. With the option to undervolt and manage power efficiently, you should be well covered!
