I recently switched to a 4K monitor and I've been experiencing some issues with a dragging effect when things move quickly on the screen. I'm currently using an RTX 2060. Could my GPU be the problem? Thanks for any insights!

If you're just using the desktop or light gaming, the 2060 should be fine. For heavy gaming, though, it’s definitely not enough. Games can push 4K pretty hard, and the 2060 will show its age.

Yes, for 4K gaming, the RTX 2060 is simply not enough. You should look into something like the 6800 XT or 4070. Even at 1440p, a solid upgrade is recommended for modern titles.

For older or less demanding games, the 2060 can handle 4K decently. But if you're into recent AAA titles, you're going to need something stronger. I'd recommend aiming for at least a 3060 Ti or better for more enjoyable gameplay at 4K.

Yeah, I mostly play AAA games. It seems like I’ll have to upgrade soon.

You might want to check your monitor's refresh rate settings. Sometimes if it's stuck at 30Hz, it'll make everything look laggy even if your GPU isn't the main issue.

Good point! Make sure that you're using the right cable too, or you might not be getting the full refresh rate.

Yeah, your RTX 2060 isn't quite up to the task for 4K gaming. It's more of a 1080p card, so for smooth performance, especially with newer titles, you'll want to look at something like a 4070 or even a 3080 if you're serious about gaming at 4K.

True, 2060 was designed for 1080p. If you're playing intense AAA games, you're definitely going to struggle. Time to upgrade!

Exactly! Watching some benchmarks on YouTube could really help you decide which card to go for.

I agree. The RTX 2060 was budget-friendly but not really made for the heavy lifting that 4K demands, especially in the latest games. Upgrading is your best bet if you want a smoother experience.
