Is My RX 7900 GRE Compatible with My New PSU?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some guidance. I recently got an RX 7900 GRE graphics card and a new PSU (MRG A1000GS PCIe5). The problem is that the PSU only came with one PCIe 8pin to 6+2 pin connector, but my GPU needs two of those connectors to function properly. I reached out to the manufacturer to request an extra connector, but they said it could take around eight weeks to arrive. I'm considering purchasing an additional connector instead (I found one on Amazon). What do you all think?

Yeah, it sounds like a hassle. I get that you’re trying to avoid a long wait with the manufacturer. If you only received three cables—two of which are incompatible—that's definitely frustrating. The extra connector you're thinking about purchasing looks fine, but double-check the specs to ensure it matches your GPU's requirements before you buy it.

It’s a bit odd that the PSU didn't come with enough connectors since it's designed for dual graphics cards. Typically, you should have received four connectors in the box. Have you checked thoroughly? There should be more than just the one you mentioned! But since you’re already looking for alternatives, I say go ahead and buy that extra connector. Just make sure it’s compatible with your GPU.
