Is My Ryzen 7 7700X Overheating with the Atmos 360 Cooler?

I recently put together a new PC featuring a Ryzen 7 7700X and an Atmos 360 cooler. With an ambient temperature of about 27°C, I've noticed that while running Cinebench R23 in multicore mode, the CPU temperatures hit 96°C at a power draw of 133W. In contrast, I have another PC with a Ryzen 5 7600X and a Hyper 620S cooler, which peaks at 92°C under the same conditions. Is this temperature level normal for the 7700X, or should I be concerned about overheating? Any advice would be appreciated!

Make sure your cooler is properly mounted and that you’ve applied a good amount of thermal paste. Sometimes uneven mounting can lead to higher temps than normal, even if you think you did it right.

Yeah, it's mounted at the top of a Corsair 3500X case, and I’m pretty sure I used a good amount of paste.

It’s common for AMD’s AM5 CPUs to boost right up to around 95°C before throttling due to temperature limits. What's your Cinebench score like compared to typical benchmarks for the 7700X? It can help determine if performance is in line with expectations. Just keep an eye on temps to avoid any long-term issues!

I scored 18803 with the 7700X. For the 7600X, I think it was between 16000 and 10000, but I can't recall exactly.
