Is My Samsung A8 Battery Dead?

My Samsung A8 2018 won't turn on after being dead for a while. I charged it, and now the screen shows a blue display with some text in the top left corner. When I hold down all the buttons, it goes black, vibrates, and returns to the blue screen. Holding the volume up button makes the screen brighter. I'm starting to think the battery might be dead, but is that definitely the issue? The text on the screen says it's in ODIN MODE with various details like 'PRODUCT NAME: SM-A530F' and 'CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official'.

I'd agree with GadgetGuru. If the battery is failing, it might just need a replacement. As for repair costs, it can vary a lot depending on where you take it. Some repair shops might charge a reasonable fee, but if you’re worried about your notes being lost, it might be worth paying a bit more to retrieve them before considering any other options.

Sounds like your battery might be the issue. Usually, ODIN mode indicates the phone is in a state where it can receive software updates or repairs, but it's not picky about battery health like normal boot-up. If it charged enough to get to ODIN, there could still be hope! Comes down to whether it can hold a charge or not.
