Is my VW 43 inch TV really 4K if it shows 1920×1080?

I just got a new VW 43 inch 4K TV, model VW43GQ1, and when I checked the specs using the DRM Info app, it lists the resolution as 1920x1080. Does this mean that my TV isn't truly 4K? I'm a bit confused about what this means and I'd appreciate your help!

Make sure to check your TV settings; it may allow you to manually select the resolution. Some TVs have different modes that optimize for various types of content. If your streaming apps, like Disney+, are showing 4K content, you're likely getting the right resolution there.

I couldn't find any option in Android TV settings to change the resolution. But Disney+ is definitely showing 4K content. It's just that Prime and Netflix won't let me manually choose the resolution.

From what I've found, the VW43GQ1 is indeed a 4K TV with a resolution of 3840x2160. The DRM Info app showing 1920x1080 is likely just a default setting or indication for non-4K content. You should still be able to access 4K resolutions when using compatible sources.

I understand the confusion! You might want to check if your TV has settings to switch resolutions. Sometimes, it will only display in 4K when it detects a 4K input signal. Also, try connecting a device that streams 4K content to see if it automatically adjusts.
