Is Now a Bad Time to Build a PC?

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here and need some advice. I think it's the worst time to build a PC given the high RAM prices, and unfortunately, my laptop is on its last legs, so I can't afford to wait around for prices to drop. I've put together a build on PCPartPicker (link provided), but I'm no hardware expert and I'm already over my budget because of the RAM situation.

I'm using an Endorfy FM6 power supply, but I opted for the 750W version. One of my main concerns is cooling—I saw recommendations for the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE over the Pure Rock Pro 3, but I couldn't find the TDP for the Thermalright, making it tough to compare.

In terms of my build requirements, it's going to be a streamer/vtuber setup, running a vtuber model, a game, and potentially multi-platform streaming. I also want it to handle the Adobe suite well, especially Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere. I'm not looking to exceed 1080p or 120hz for my setup. Any help would be appreciated!

Haha, totally get that coffee struggle! Your setup sounds great for streaming. Just make sure everything you pick is compatible. The Phantom Spirit and Fortis 5 both have their pros, so weigh your options based on what other users are saying online. You're in a tight spot with budget and timing, but with the right parts, you can make it work!

If you're considering other parts, look into swapping your SSD for something like the Transcend 250H or the WD/Sandisk Black SN850X. They offer solid performance. Also, for your PSU, the Cooler Master MWE Gold V3 is on discount right now—you might want to consider it even if it’s non-modular, it’s got good reviews. Just remember that quality is key, especially since you’re building for streaming and creative work!

Honestly, I think you're right to be concerned about the cooling. Be quiet coolers are great for Intel CPUs, but the Phantom Spirit is getting solid reviews. If you can find the Endorfy Fortis 5 for cheaper, it might be worth considering—it performs well. Just make sure it fits your build! And as for your PSU, Endorfy isn’t the most known brand, but as long as you’re getting a good deal and it’s modular, it should serve you well.

Just be clear about your performance needs, especially for streaming and Adobe work. Make sure your cooling can handle that load!

You nailed it with the cooling advice! The Fortis 5 does have a better fan setup, and it might save you some bucks while performing just as well. Definitely worth checking out!
