Is Now a Good Time to Build a New PC?

I'm currently using an old PC and I've been wanting to upgrade for a while. Here are my specs: I'm running an Intel Core i5-10400T processor at 2.00GHz with 8GB of RAM. My storage is a 238GB SSD and my graphics are handled by Intel UHD Graphics 630. My current setup can manage some indie games, but I'm looking to do more and experience better performance. I finally have some funds to buy a better setup, but with RAM prices going up, I'm not sure if it's worth it to build a new PC now or if I should keep waiting for prices to drop. What do you all think?

DDR4 RAM is still reasonably priced right now, so going for 16GB and a decent GPU from either Nvidia or AMD is a solid plan. That would set you up for gaming at medium to high settings at 1440p. Just keep an eye on RAM prices for the next 8 to 12 months.

Honestly, I’d upgrade now. We can never predict what the future holds, and if you’ve got the budget handy, building an AM4 system right now would be a nice reward for yourself.

I’d suggest waiting for now! But you could check out platforms like eBay for decent second-hand upgrades. You might find something worth your time and money. It's always good to explore your options before diving in.

It’s essential to know if your motherboard is upgradable or if it has any proprietary components. You should definitely consider getting another 8GB of RAM and a new GPU. Even something like a GTX 1060 or RX 580 would be a major improvement from your current setup! You might also need a better PSU and perhaps an extra 1TB SSD for more storage.
