Hey everyone, I'm a newbie and just built my first PC. My RAM is currently running at 4800MHz, but it's advertised to go up to 6000MHz. I can run most games without any issues, but I'm curious if it's a good idea to overclock it to its full speed of 6000MHz. What do you think? Is it safe?

6000MT/s is just the XMP/EXPO profile, so it’s technically overclocking, but it's pretty standard. Just enable it and see if it stays stable—if it does, you're all set!
Yeah, just enable the EXPO profile in your BIOS and you'll be good to go! It usually makes it really straightforward to get your RAM running at its advertised speed without any fuss.
It's safe as long as you enable the XMP or EXPO profiles. If you have a warranty, it's covered too! Just a heads up, your system might take a bit longer to boot at first since the CPU and motherboard have to train with the new settings. No need to worry about that!
Thanks for the tip! I guess a longer boot time isn't a big deal if it means better performance.

True, but it's still an overclock, right? It's a profile with higher voltage to achieve that speed instead of just running at 4800MHz. Stability can be hit or miss.
