Hey everyone! I'm transitioning from Windows to Linux and currently choosing a distribution for my laptop. I've become frustrated with Windows, especially regarding privacy issues and unnecessary software. My laptop is mostly for web browsing, gaming, and media playback, but I plan to dive into video and audio editing later on. I initially thought Linux Mint might be a good fit due to its familiar layout and stability. However, I've been hearing that Pop!_OS might be optimal for my GeForce 4050 GPU. I've read that it has some innovative features but may come with bugs, a smaller support community, and a steeper learning curve. So, I have a few questions: Is my understanding of these distributions correct? Given my Nvidia GPU, should I lean towards Pop!_OS, or will Linux Mint work just as well once set up? And is Pop!_OS manageable for someone who isn't super tech-savvy? Any insights are appreciated! Thanks!

Pop!_OS could be a solid choice, but it’s still evolving. If you're looking for out-of-the-box Nvidia support, Ubuntu might be worth checking out. You can easily pick your drivers from the Additional Drivers section.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely consider Ubuntu. Do you think the bugs in the Pop!_OS desktop are being worked out quickly? It seems like it has a decent support base, but maybe not as big as Mint.
