Is Secure Boot Safe for Gaming?

I've had a bad experience with Secure Boot in the past—when I turned it on for my older PC, it bricked and the motherboard died. Now my friend wants me to play Valorant with him, and I need Secure Boot enabled. I'm using a B550 motherboard with a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and Windows 11. Is Secure Boot really safe, or could it cause issues again?

Generally, Secure Boot is pretty safe! It helps prevent unauthorized software from loading during startup. Just be aware that it might use generic drivers which could affect your gaming performance initially. If something goes wrong, it can usually be fixed easily.

Don’t worry, Secure Boot won’t actually brick your motherboard. It sounds like your previous issue was more likely related to a boot problem after enabling it. Just make sure you have backups ready before making system changes!
