I'm considering pairing a 9600X CPU with my 5070 Ti for gaming, but I've heard that some users still experience stuttering, particularly in games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. I'm curious if there's a specific reason for this issue or if the 9600X is truly not the best option. I'm aiming to game at 4K 120Hz with DLSS4 on my 65" LG C4 OLED TV, and I usually play controller-based games, not city builders. If the 9600X isn't ideal, what CPU would you suggest instead?

Honestly, I can't see why a 9600X would stutter in Fortnite or Marvel Rivals. It might be a network issue since those are online games. At 4K, the CPU won't be as important. I've seen reviews showing that the 1% lows of the 9600X aren't far off from those of the 9800X3D. If you want better performance, sure, try the 7800X3D or even the 9700X for more cores, but the 9600X is still a strong choice for gaming.
If you're gaming a lot, especially at 4K, I'd recommend going with at least a 7800X3D or something even higher. It'll really help with performance. The 9600X might work, but it's better to get a more powerful CPU for smoother gameplay.
Is that mainly for improving those 1% lows? I thought that was what led to stuttering?
Definitely go for the 7800X3D. It's just a fantastic choice for gaming these days.
I paired my setup with a 9800X3D, and it runs buttery smooth without bottlenecks. The 7800X3D is the best choice, but I went for the 9800X3D because it was just slightly more expensive.
So it's only a 3% performance gain with the 7800X3D? Will it load games faster or is it just a little better at gaming?
