Hey everyone! I'm running a Ryzen 7 3700X with an RTX 3080, but I feel like my CPU is starting to let me down. I'm considering upgrading to either the 9800X3D for $460 or the 7800X3D for $360. Do you think the 9800X3D is overkill for my setup? If I go for it, will I notice a significant performance boost over the 9700X? By the way, I'm mainly gaming at 1440p with AAA open-world titles and I'm not planning on upgrading my GPU anytime soon.

Honestly, I think the 7800X3D offers better value for your situation. The 9800X3D might only be about 10% faster on average and tends to run hotter, consuming more power. It would pair well with your RTX 3080 and leave you with tons of upgrade potential for your GPU later down the line.
