I'm curious if I can use my stock AM4 air cooler for my Ryzen 7600X just for a little while. I'm planning to upgrade to an Arctic 360 Pro cooler in a month or two, and I'm looking ahead to getting a 9950X3D next year. Right now, I'm on a tight budget, so I can't buy the AIO cooler along with my other parts.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend using the stock cooler. The 7600X can run pretty hot. For reference, I built a PC with a 7600X, and I used a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE, which is one of the top air coolers out there. Under full load, I set the fan curve to 100% when the CPU hits 70°C. At idle, temps are around 40-45°C and during gaming, it goes up to 70-75°C, sometimes even hitting 80°C. If I had used the stock cooler, I bet the temps would soar to 90-95°C while gaming.
You really don’t need a 360mm AIO for a 7600X. If you want to reuse your AM4 cooler, go ahead and give it a shot; they usually fit the same way across different AMD sockets. Just keep in mind that the 7600X has a 100W TDP, so it’s better suited for a cooler like the Wraith Prism rather than the cheaper Stealth. If you can, consider picking up a solid air cooler like the $35 Peerless Assassin instead; it will work great!
I’ll be moving to the 9950X3D next year too, so I was thinking of getting the cooler sooner rather than later.
I’m looking into some affordable air coolers now since I wanted to go for an AIO.
