Is the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X a Good Choice for My New PC?

I'm considering upgrading my old PC, which has an Intel Core i5 8400, and I'm looking at the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X as a potential option. However, I've come across discussions suggesting that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D might be a better choice. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether the 9700X is worth it or recommend a different processor that offers better performance for the price? I'm particularly interested in any Ryzen AM5 options.

The value of the 9700X really depends on how much you're paying compared to the 7700 series or even Ryzen 5 processors. The 7800X3D is generally faster, so if it's within your budget, it might be a better investment for performance.

I haven't settled on a motherboard yet—I'm planning to choose one based on the processor. I'm also still exploring options for the graphics card, so I'm a bit in the dark about which components to pick.
