I'm considering picking up an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (5.2GHz, 8C/16T, 104MB cache, AM5 socket) that comes without retail packaging. I want to know if it's worth it for a gaming-focused build. Has anyone tested this CPU or upgraded from a 7800X3D or 5800X3D? I'd love to hear about real-world gaming performance, temperatures, and if there are any concerns about getting the bare CPU version.

Honestly, if you're coming from the 7800X3D, it might not be worth the upgrade. The performance boost is only about 10% or so. Many users think the 9800X3D is more for those wanting the latest tech rather than those looking for significant performance improvements.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D has been around for a while, and many have already tested it. If you're using a powerful GPU like the RTX 4090, it can really shine, but just remember that the performance gain is highly dependent on your graphics card. I’d recommend checking out some tech reviews and benchmarks for more details!
I’d say it’s an insane upgrade if you want to push your setup to the max, but it doesn’t seem essential if you already have a solid chip like the 7800X3D.

Insane in what way? Just curious how it outperforms others!
