Hey everyone! I'm looking to build a PC and I'm considering the Asrock A620M-HDVM.2+ motherboard to pair with my 9070XT graphics card. I don't plan on overclocking and I'm a bit confused. I've seen some comments suggesting that A620 boards perform about 1-2% worse than B650 boards, but I couldn't find solid proof of that. I'm using a Ryzen 7500F, and while the price difference is $30-40, I just want to make sure I'm making a smart choice for my needs! Thanks for your help!

I'd recommend getting a B650 or B850 instead. I found a solid B650 board for about $99. It’s a little more expensive, but it might save you some trouble down the road! You can check it out [here](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xFmNnQ/asrock-b650m-hm2-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-b650m-hm2).
Using the A620 should work fine for you if you're not into overclocking. Most budget boards like the A620 or B840 don’t save you much money compared to a B650 but can come with fewer features—like compatibility with future CPUs and better memory support. If those improvements don't matter to you, go for the A620!
For a light build, A620 boards are great! If it covers your needs, just go with it. You may miss out on some high-speed USB ports and PCIe lanes compared to the B650, but if you're just adding a GPU and don't need more than 2 NVMe drives and 2 SATA, you should be perfectly fine.
It’s a bit tricky to say the A620 performs worse without context. Some A620 boards can actually match or even outperform B650s when it comes to VRM temperatures and other factors.
Totally agree! But honestly, I'd invest a bit more and get the B650 for fewer headaches later on.
