Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my GPU from an RTX 2060 Super to either the ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT or the Sapphire Radeon RX 9060 XT. I've been using the RTX 2060 for about 2.5 years now, and I feel it's reached its limits for my gaming preferences. My current setup includes a Ryzen 7 5800X, 16GB of RAM (which I plan to upgrade to 32GB along with the GPU), and a 2TB NVMe drive. I mainly play games at 1080p, but I'm excited to start gaming at 1440p with my new MSI 27'' 1440p monitor, which has a refresh rate of 180Hz (though I'll mostly be using it at 144Hz). I've found the RX 9060 XT for around 375€ and the RX 6800 XT on sale for 400€. I know reaching a stable 144 FPS in games can be tough, but I'm okay with adjusting some graphics settings to maintain good performance. I'd love to hear your thoughts on which GPU would be the better investment! Thanks for your help!

Hey! I'm in a similar boat but with a Ryzen 3 3600. I've upgraded to 32GB of RAM already. If you're planning on holding onto your system for a bit longer, just pick whichever GPU you like better. If you're thinking about selling parts later, the 9060 XT might be the way to go.
If you're planning to keep this new GPU for as long as your RTX 2060, you'll probably save around 80-100 USD on power costs with the 9060 XT because it's more efficient.
I did buy the RTX 2060 SC for 230€ during a sale back in late 2022, and it was kind of an emergency purchase. I didn’t think about power costs when buying in the past!
The RX 9060 XT is slightly better, especially when it comes to ray tracing, and it might be more future-proof for your needs.
I haven't really used ray tracing much since my RTX 2060 struggled with it. Plus, I'm not a fan of DLSS since it can make things look a bit blurry. So, you're saying the 9060 XT is a better option than the 6800 XT on sale?
Thanks for the input! I’m not planning to sell my PC anytime soon. After the GPU upgrade, I expect to use it for at least 4 more years as is.
